RECORD THE REAL PRODUCT

Product demo video maker and demo recorder for Mac.
Record once. Polished when you stop.

For product demos on a Mac, CursorClip is a demo recorder: it records your screen and zooms in on each click automatically, so small UI stays readable without keyframe editing. Add your camera, mic and system audio, read from the built-in teleprompter, and export MP4, MOV or GIF. It costs $70 once. Screen Studio, which adds share links and captions, costs $108 a year.

Screen Studio price: $9 a month on the yearly plan ($108 a year), or $29 month to month, from the pricing section of screen.studio, checked 6 October 2026. Sources.

Free to record and edit. A license to export. macOS 13.5 or later.

A real recording made in CursorClip

A real recording made in CursorClip: a walkthrough of a website and a Notion page with the camera on. The zooms follow the clicks. Real footage, not a mockup.

Every click readable

CursorClip zooms in on what you click and pans as you move, so viewers see the button, not a blur of tiny UI.

Your face where it helps

Add your camera as a bubble, side by side or stacked, and switch layouts on the timeline. See layouts.

A file you own

Export MP4, MOV or GIF up to 4K at 60 fps, then put it on your site, YouTube or a sales email.

HOW TO MAKE A PRODUCT DEMO VIDEO

Script, record, export.
No timeline required.

  1. 01

    Write the script in Notes

Open Notes from the recording controls and paste your script. It floats beside your product while you talk, with optional auto-scroll, and it is designed to stay out of the recording. Your draft survives every retake. How the teleprompter works.

  2. 02

    Record once

Pick a window or display, turn on your camera, mic and system audio, and click through the product. CursorClip zooms in on each click and smooths the cursor while you record, so the polish is done when you stop. Choose a camera layout, then adjust any zoom you want to change.

  3. 03

Export a file and upload it anywhere

Export MP4, MOV or GIF and put it on your landing page, in your docs, on YouTube or in an email. Recording and editing are free. A license unlocks export.

PICK THE RIGHT KIND

Which kind of demo tool do you need?

“Demo software” means four different things. CursorClip is a video demo recorder: it records your real product.

Click-through interactive demo

You capture your screens once, and viewers click through them at their own pace in the browser. No video.

Best for self-guided tours embedded on a website or sent by sales teams.

  • Arcade: interactive demos and AI product videos.
  • Supademo: AI interactive product demos.
  • Storylane: interactive demos for go-to-market teams.

AI avatar video

You type a script and an AI presenter reads it on camera, in many languages.

Best for training and internal videos at scale.

  • Synthesia: an AI video and avatar platform that works in 140+ languages.

AI-generated demo video

You give it a prompt or a script, and AI generates the scenes, narration and animation. Some also take a screen recording as a starting point.

Best for explainers and social clips that don’t need a real walkthrough.

  • Pixo: AI videos from script to screen.
  • ngram: AI videos for onboarding, training, demos and explainers, from a prompt or a screen recording.
  • Vuela: an AI marketing content generator for video, articles, images and avatars.

CursorClip doesn’t generate scenes or presenters. It records your real product, so every frame of the demo is your actual UI. Comparing screen recorders for SaaS demos? See the best screen recorders for SaaS demos on Mac.

QUESTIONS

Product demo video questions

What is the best product demo video maker or demo recorder for Mac?

If you want a real video of your product, CursorClip records your screen and zooms in on each click automatically, so small UI stays readable without keyframe editing. Add your camera, mic and system audio, read your script from the built-in teleprompter, and export MP4, MOV or GIF. It costs $70 once. If you need share links or captions, Screen Studio has both, at $108 a year (checked 6 October 2026).

How do I record a product demo on a Mac?

Write your script in Notes, CursorClip’s built-in teleprompter. Pick the window or display, turn on your camera and mic, and click through the product once at an unhurried pace. CursorClip zooms in on each click and smooths the cursor while you record. When you stop, check the preview, adjust anything you want, and export a file.

Is CursorClip free?

Free to record and edit, with no account. A license to export: $70 once, $29 a year or $9 a month. Every license covers up to 3 Macs, and every plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Can I send a share link to my demo?

Not yet. Share links are in development. Today you export a video file and upload it wherever your viewers are: your website, YouTube, a help center, Slack or a sales email.

Does CursorClip add captions?

No. CursorClip has no captions or transcripts today. If your demo will autoplay muted, add captions in another tool or on the platform you upload to.

Can I make a click-through interactive demo with CursorClip?

No. CursorClip makes video. A click-through demo, where viewers step through your screens themselves in the browser, needs a tool such as Arcade, Supademo or Storylane.

Will my script show up in the recording?

Notes is designed to stay out of the recording. If CursorClip cannot keep it out of the capture, it hides Notes instead, and your script stays saved for the next take.

Can I edit a video I recorded with another app?

No. CursorClip opens and edits the recordings it made, not videos from other apps.

How long should a product demo video be?

For a landing page, 60 to 90 seconds: one scenario, one result. Longer walkthroughs suit viewers who chose to watch, such as investors or trial users.
